I spearhead the Zero Waste Global Standard, a comprehensive suite of programs, methodologies, and projects that guide organizations and territories towards excellence in holistic waste management and aid in the transition to a circular economy. This initiative boasts a community of more than 1200 certified internal auditors. I am the orchestrator of the Voluntary Circular Economy Program (PVEC), which aims to issue plastic credits. I bring to the table over 25 years of experience in public policy formulation, program management, and education. Additionally, I have co-authored various publications on sustainability and the circular economy. Throughout my career, I have participated as an international speaker and observer at Climate Change Summits. 

I hold a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management from the Universidad de los Andes, and have completed The Executive Training Program on Environmental Peacebuilding at Columbia University’s Earth Institute, as well as the Global Sustainable Business Program at the University of Vermont. Since 2013, I have accompanied the circular economy training processes at Global Zero Waste and since then we have provided more than 800 hours of training and trained more than 3,000 people. I have the opportunity to co-author the International Standard Zero Waste Management Systems hand in hand with the entire Standardization Committee, with which we have certified more than 300 facilities globally.

Who can take the course?

This course is designed for technicians, technologists or professionals interested in designing and implementing the International Zero Waste Management System Standard. Also, to understand the international zero waste model and its relationship with the circular economy from different disciplines and areas of knowledge.

What certification will I receive upon completion?

If you pass the final exam with more than 80% of the answers correct, you will receive an international certification from Global Zero Waste.

In addition, support material (ZWMS International Standard, implementation tools, checklists, etc.) will be available to you at any time.

How long does the course last?

The course has a total duration of twenty-four (24) hours, distributed in eight (8) days of theoretical and practical classes, taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Each day consists of three (3) hours, in which you will be able to access specialized content, interact with the instructors, develop the activities, learn from real cases and become the best Zero Waste implementer.

You will not need additional time outside the course schedule to complete the activities. The workshops are conducted completely online, and any doubts will be resolved during the course, guaranteeing a comprehensive and efficient learning experience.
